Welcome to the Satellite Users Interference Reduction Group (SUIRG) web site, the leading source on satellite interference and its impact on the satellite communications industry. The site describes what SUIRG is doing to mitigate the effects of radio frequency interference (RFI) and to stop or reduce unintentional cases of interference.
Our site provides a complementary resource for the satellite industry in its struggle to combat the problem of satellite RFI. The Global Uplinker Registry provides a resource for satellite users with temporary satellite uplink requirements. If you are an uplinker, I urge you to visit SUIRG's and complete the request to be added to the Registry. Upon review of your application, we will furnish an access password for you to list your company and uplink capabilities. You will then have another resource for customers to learn about your company and procure your services.
The Satellite Users Interference Reduction Group is a global industry organization dedicated to combating the increasing and costly problem of satellite radio frequency interference (RFI). Comprised of representatives from both private industry and the public sector, SUIRG shares and disseminates RFI information and remedies, works with industry to define equipment standards and proficiency training, and actively pursues programs to reduce or mitigate satellite interference.
SUIRG is a membership-funded organization that combines the collective strength and technical capability of its members to achieve what no single company can do alone. SUIRG is incorporated as a 501(c) (6) (not-for-profit) trade association and has a ten-year history of working to reduce radio interference. Its Founding Members are major players in the fields of satellite services and interference detection and location companies: Intelsat, PanAmSat, Inmarsat, New Skies Satellites, QinetiQ, and Glowlink.
SUIRG's extensive and qualified industry experience is put to best advantage influencing suppliers, improving the quality of satellite communications equipment and services, and identifying and providing technical resources to its members.
Visit our site frequently for updates on the SUIRG Working Groups activities, to access our database on interference incidents, and to utilize the Global Uplinker Registry to easily locate a satellite uplinker who meets your requirements. In addition, the site is an information source for meetings and activities related to satellite interference.
If your business is impacted by, or concerned about RFI, please consider joining SUIRG. I invite you visit the membership page or contact me directly at to discuss the benefits of joining this concerted industry effort to reduce the growing problem of radio frequency interference.
